What do I get?
A Stellar account whose address contains the word you chose. When it is delivered, your key is its only signer; the address's own key, which we generated, gets weight 0 and cannot do anything. You can check this yourself on the verify page or any Stellar explorer.
Which wallet do I pay from?
From your own wallet (Lobstr, Varial (formerly Freighter), xBull, Albedo, HOT Wallet, a Ledger, …), never from an exchange. The key that pays becomes the only signer of the new account. A payment from an exchange or from an account with several signers cannot be delivered: we hold it and refund it by hand when you contact us.
How do I use the address in Lobstr?
In Lobstr, add a wallet with the new account's address (G…) and the secret key of the wallet you paid from (your own S…). Lobstr then lets you see and send from the new account, signing with your key. Other wallets work through Stellar Lab: build the transaction there with the new account as source and sign it with your wallet.
How fast is delivery?
Addresses from the catalogue: usually within a minute after the payment. Custom orders: within 7 days (21 for the longest ones), shown with the price before you pay. If we cannot deliver in time, you get a full refund.
What if something goes wrong with the payment?
- You paid too little, without the memo, or for a pattern we do not offer: we refund it minus 0.5 XLM (or its value in USDC).
- You paid too much: we deliver and refund the difference if it is more than 1 XLM.
- Someone bought the same address a moment earlier, or we could not find your custom address in time: full refund.
- Refunds go back to the account that paid, in the same asset.
Can KeyPlates take the address back?
No. After delivery the key we generated has weight 0 and your key is the only signer. Signatures made with our key before delivery stop working at delivery. We cannot move your funds, change the account, or recover it if you lose your own key: keep your wallet's backup safe.
Tiny payments from addresses that look like mine?
That is address poisoning, a common scam. Right after a purchase, bots create accounts whose addresses start and end like yours or like your new address, send a tiny amount (0.0001 XLM) so they appear in your history, and delete the accounts. They hope you will later copy an address from your history and send money to theirs. Ignore those payments, never copy an address from a transaction history, and always check the whole address before sending. KeyPlates never sends you tokens or dust, and our only payment address is GD4DNGO25NUOX5TCYBSNRGJ3JEYHCB2GAA2FC4AKADFQQYSKEYPLATES (also in our stellar.toml).
Which payments do you accept?
XLM and USDC (Circle) on the Stellar public network. Prices are set in US dollars; the XLM amount follows the exchange rate and is refreshed daily.
